Guide to Planning a Bachelorette Party Weekend

Grab your bride sash and a little white dress for a night out on the town with your girls!

As a bride-to-be, the planning of a wedding can become overwhelming and stressful, but the bachelorette party is the perfect way to de-stress. The maid of honor will typically take over the majority of activity planning duties, so you get to simply show up and prepare for a weekend of fun with your girls. Whether you’re opting for a wine tasting getaway at a vineyard or a week-long vacation to the islands of Greece, the bachelorette party is supposed to be about quality time with your closest friends no matter where you end up. But, pulling off a seamless bachelorette party weekend can be difficult, so we’ve broken down a timeline to help you and your bridal party plan the perfect trip!

5 Months

Even if your bridal party is looking to keep the major factors of the bachelorette weekend a secret from you, you should still have a brief conversation with them about what you want the weekend to consist of and who’s on the guest list. After all, it is a celebration of your upcoming nuptials and a goodbye to your single life. Once you have set a guest list, you or a member of your bridal party should set up a group text to figure out what weekend would work best for the group – be prepared for questions about budget and location. The larger the group, the harder it will be to find a location and budget that works for everyone, but just do what you think will accommodate the most guests.

3 Months

This is the most critical time of planning a trip, so make sure you or a member of your bridal party sends out save-the-dates to all of the guests. This way they’ll know all of the details of the upcoming bachelorette weekend. It could be as simple as a text or quick call, but you want to ensure that everyone is securing their airfare and hotel or resort accommodations. Try to coordinate travel together whether you’re flying or driving, so you can get the party going early with throwback playlists or a pre-flight drink!

1 Month

Start to finalize any planned activities for the weekend. You may just want to relax poolside and sip mimosas all day and that’s totally fine, but if you or your bridal party is planning any tours, sightseeing, dinners, or nights out you want to make sure that reservations are made in advance. Also, start stocking up on the bachelorette bash supplies from sashes and veils to decor and guest gift bags. You’ll want to purchase any party essentials pre-travel!

1 Week

It’s always a good idea to confirm your reservations a week before the bachelorette party, no one wants to spend hours in a plane or car to then find out their reservation was canceled. You can also ask the place you’re staying at if they offer adjoining rooms or perks for visiting brides. This is also the perfect time to send out a group text establishing the personalized bachelorette hashtag and if everyone is an Apple user you can create a shared photo album where guests can upload their photos from the weekend. This way you can get everyone excited for the trip and create a fun way to share all the memories from the weekend!

Few Days/Day Before

Do a last-minute check-in with all of the guests, making sure everyone knows when and where they are supposed to be on day one of your bachelorette trip. But most importantly, get a good night’s sleep and rest up for the ultimate bachelorette party weekend where sleep is often replaced with a glass of wine!
